Nicholas de Kastav, Three Prophets

The scrolls above the prophets give their names. Daniel is on the left, Moses in the middle, and on the right a prophet whose name has faded away. Moses has three attributes: the horns, the rod, and the tablets of the Law. Daniel's green hat is de Kastav's rendering of the Phrygian cap in which he is sometimes portrayed – "in allusion to his time in Babylon," according to Duchet-Suchaux (113).
